Hi. To learn how to open a zip file on Mac, first right-click on the zip file on the Mac wherever it is present. Next, from the options in the drop down menu, click on the open with option and then decompress the file by clicking on the option of archive utility. The file can be opened as well with the archived utility. In case the file is password protected, then, the terminal utility of Apple will open the file which is compressed. Next, from finder, click on go and then click on utilities. Launch the emulator of Apple by double-clicking on terminal.

Type change directory as cd on the command prompt and then drag the zip file containing folder to the terminal window. Click on enter. Then, on the prompt, type unzip and drag the file to the terminal window from the folder. The file name and the directory path will thus get copied in the terminal window so that we don’t have to manually type it in. Click on enter. Then, at the prompt, type your password and open the zip file.

Hope we helped.
