Hi. I was previously having a single core laptop. I want to switch to either dual core or quad core. But, I cannot decide which one to choose from. So, can you please suggest me which one of the two is better? Also, what is a core and what is the difference between dual core vs. quad core laptop?

Learn The Difference: Dual Core Vs. Quad Core Laptop

Hi. Both the dual cores as well as the quad core laptops are great. For example, having a dual core means nothing else but to have two additional central processing units within the main CPU which performs the tasks. The core is this central processing unit which is a part of the CPU. Having more than one core enables the CPU to perform multitasking. It also speeds up the response procedure of the computer. Intel i5 is a quad processor which operates at the speed of 3 GHz. Having four processors does not mean that tasks like opening MS Office will start operating at twice the speed because that is not the case. It can be useful in cases where multithreading is required, and load needs to be handled. The main difference between dual core vs. quad core laptop is that a dual core comprises of two cores whereas a quad core has four cores. It can also be decided that which task should be given a core by right-clicking on the process and then clicking on set affinity. The CPU cores use can also be tracked via the task manager.

Hope we helped.
