Hi. I’ll try my best to solve your problem. So, firstly we’ll start with VAT Registration. VAT stands for Value Added Tax. VAT Registration is the process of listing your business with the government as active in production and sales. Company Registered for VAT will be issued a unique number known as VAT Registration Number. It’s mandatory to include VAT Registration Number on the sales invoice.
VAT Registered Companies can activate VAT in their account setting to add VAT to invoices, adjust VAT Rates for different products. If you are registered for VAT, you need to report your VAT at regular intervals throughout the tax year, either manually through using authorized Making Tax Digital Software. It’s important to check a VAT Number because if we don’t check our VAT Number, then we end up entering an invalid number on our return. In most cases, errors with VAT Number come from innocent mistakes. When it comes to checking our VAT Number, we have two options:
- We can call the HMRC VAT Helpline Number 03002003700. The timing of this line is from 8 am to 8 pm during the week.
- We can use go through VIES Website (online VAT checker).
If you find the VAT Number is invalid, then you should contact the company to confirm the correct VAT Number. Also, you can inform the company that the VIES site is displaying the number as incorrect.
