KeePass cannot open the program after installation finished

Hi there,

After the install of KeePass this error message box appears every time when I want to open the program. I did a small search on the Internet about this error and nothing useful that works was found. Any solution ? Why is not working ?

Check what version of KeePass is installed on your computer. If you are using KeePass 2.x, it requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher. If you haven’t installed it yet, download the latest version, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1. It requires Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1, and Windows Server 2012.

In case the latest version gives you installation problems, try downloading Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1. You should be able to install it on your computer. If you haven’t updated KeePass yet to the latest version, download and install KeePass 2.27.

For KeePass 1.x, it doesn’t require installing Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
