Hello Lyra Anderson,

I read your issue with the Kaspersky 2012 installation problem and would like to share with you the possible cause to the problem.

There is the program “ZoneAlarm”. Whereas it is possible to install kaspersky internet security 2011 without the antivirus having installation issues while the ZoneAlarm is still running in your computer, this is not the case with the kaspersky internet security 2012:

  • To correct the issue, you have to uninstall first the ZoneAlarm.
  • Secondly after successful uninstallation, reboot your computer.
  • Install the Kapsersky internet security antivirus.
  • Reboot the machine the second time.
  • Install the ZoneAlarm.

I hope this will sort the given problem.

Hi Lyra,

The CD you are using may have encountered problems, for instance scratches due to improper handling. Its lenses may be tampered due to reasons like exposure to dust extreme cold of heat or by touching the sensitive surface of the CD.

The drive could be the one having problems, you could just open it and check the cable that connects it and the motherboard to and verify that it is in good condition.

Or the software on the CD may be corrupted. But since you purchased it recently, I bet you still have the warranty so you could just return it to the vendor and get a good one instead of going through much trouble.

Hope this helps.
