Glad to hear that the iTunes Store has reached some countries here in Asia, especially the Philippines. What are to be expected of the iTunes store?
The iTunes Stores reached Asia in several locations such as: Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and 8 other countries. Asian users with Apple products could download some applications or games, but they couldn't download songs or albums. This action was made because the Asian market is very important for Apple and it has a growing consumer culture that has created a huge demand for their products. In South East Asia more than 50% of the population that uses internet uses Apple products, such as iPad or iPhone.
In Singapore, albums are priced between S$ 9.98 and S$ 12.98 (US$ 7.80 – $ 10.15) and some of the songs are sold for S$1.28 (US$1), which is lower than in the US., compared to a song's price – US$ 1.29.
Because of the global success of the Apple iPhone, the Apple App Store needs to be available in these countries. This is required because if one country is not supported, iPhone users in that country will not be able to purchase or install apps on their devices. It’s a fact that iPhone Smartphones or iOS devices don’t allow installing unauthorized apps.
You can only install an app to your device if it came from the Apple App Store or if the source or the website is an authorized Apple developer. By the way, just to correct you, it is not iTunes store. iTunes is the application you use to download or purchase stuffs from the Apple App Store to your device. It is not an online store, iTunes is an app.
When purchasing or downloading from the Apple App Store, you need to make sure you are always using the latest version. iTunes is a very popular app in producing errors and the usual cause is an outdated version. To fix an issue in iTunes, simply install the latest version. Also, when downloading something from the Apple App Store, make sure you check the developer’s name to make sure it is not another fake app like this one: Fake Apple App.
