I would like to know whether it is possible to connect many computers by one wireless router. If it is possible then how to configure the settings to connect the computers. I also like to know the possibilities of using one IP address for all computers.

Yes it is possible it depends on your router but the default settings is normally 192.168.0.1. Just open a web browser, any browser will do ex. (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera) then type in the address bar 192.168.0.1. It will ask your for username and password.

Then look for the DHCP settings, you can now start limiting the numbers of computer that can connect to your wifi connection.

About your question about using static configuration of IP address. Yes it is possible but you will have a problem detecting them. It is like a road saying that this is you destination. So I won't recommend that you do this identical IP address for everyone.

Hi Anniston,

Basically routes will get your IP address given to you by your

Internet Service Provider and shares it on a private net work.

To do this, the router has switching ports, the main input port

were we connect our cable from your ISP and other free ports

where you will connect your computers. This is a wired method.

To enable wireless routing, during initial setup when installing

from the CD the router comes with, enable wireless and follow

through the easy step by step instructions during installation.

routing.

Wireless router is designed to broadcast Wi-Fi signal for multiple computer can connect to the Internet working at the same time. It uses IP Address and assigned each computer uniquely from the other devices attached.

Most router uses an IP Address 192.168.1.1 and or depending on what IP Address has been configured of the device. Router has 4 ethernet ports for wired connections or more depending on what type and model the router you are using.

By theory, wireless router should carry up to 200 computers connect the Internet wirelessly. It was been tested and proven that it will work that way.

Router automatically assigned an IP Address uniquely from the others however you can also manually assigned an IP Address to communicate to the main host but it won't work if IP Address are the same because it will create a conflict with the other devicess attached to it.

To assigned a manual IP Address, you do the following steps below.

Go to Start, Control Panel
Network and Internet
Network and Sharing Center
Change Adapter Settings
Right click Local Area Connection
Left click Properties
Highlight Internet Protocol IPv4
Then click on Properties
Select Obtain IP Address manually
Assigned a manual IP Address, DNS and Sub-net Mask
