One of my college’s personal firewall was Sunbelt Personal Firewall from sunbelt software. But now they have discontinued it and recommend Viper premium.  Since sunbelt software does not provide any technical support from 2012 it is very difficult to knowing technical insights. Does anyone know that the compatibility of Sunbelt Personal Firewall with Norton products? Can I install Norton Family Client on my friend’s computer.

Also I am very keen on knowing the benefits and drawbacks of migrating from sunbelt software to other firewall?

I won't do that if I were you.

As per the update from Norton support click here Sunbelt Personal Firewall is one of those few software which are incompatible with the Norton Family due to the way how both products would filter the internet traffic,

Thus they do not advise to install Norton Family client on a PC which is already using Sunbelt Personal Firewall.

Hi Jean,

Unfortunately Sunbelt Personal Firewall is not compatible with Norton Family, so you should not install it along with Sunbelt. Norton can work with other security software but it can not function well. This is because they have different ways how to filter throughput over the internet.

You can check this link to see what antivirus software is compatible with Norton. If you would think of another software Kaspersky Internet Security is also not compatible with Sunbelt firewall.

If you install Kaspersky it will detect and delete Sunbelt firewall.
