IPod 1 is stuck at the apple logo upon restart

Hi to everyone,

I've got a serious problem with my IPod 1.

1) It's stuck at the apple logo upon restart. (This was the main problem)

2) Tried restoring from ITunes and was confronted with Error 3194 (irrespective whether I tried to restore to stock firmware or jailbroken firmwares)

3) Searched the net and saw that most sites recommend removing gs.apple.com from the Hosts file. (I have never edited my hosts file and double checking it confirmed that I have no entry for gs.apple.com)

4) I have also tried using TU, but when I tried restoring from iTunes with TSS Server running, I got error 2005 instead.

Can someone help me to restore my iPod??

I'm at wits end trying to resolve this problem.

Thanks.

Hi,

This happened to my ipod touch many times. What you need to do is:

1: Plug your ipod to your computer.

2: Hold the "hold" and the "menu" button until the screen goes black and shows the apple logo again then release the buttons.

3: Wait for about 15 minutes.

4: Then your computer will make a sound and then the ipod will show the locked screen with the battery logo.

This has worked for me every time my ipod got stuck with the apple logo.

Hope it helps you too.

Hi,

Jewel- he will take the ipod into DFU with that one and if he tried to reinstall the software, it is surely not the problem.

I would recommend you to take an older software version into your ipod. I think if it's the 1st gen you should take one from for example 2008 or something like that. But don't take a new one because Apple doesn't care about the 1,2,3 gens just about the newest ones. So it will not work, I think that is your problem probably.

Have nice day!
