I have Inventor 2012; every time I open a file of Inventor I get these problems sending the command to the program message.

Then I installed the new version 2013 to try if the file would open properly in the new version but during the Installation I got this error.

Can someone fix my problems?

There was a problem sending the command to the program. Error

Hello King,

Do the following:

  • Click the File tab and then choose Options.
  • After that click Advanced and then click to clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box in the General area.
  • And then Click OK to save the changes.

Regards,

Nicke

Do you have more than one version of this application installed?

This happens when that is the case. You just need to have one version of the application.

This is what you need to do:

1. Click the start button on your desktop

2. Click run, a window will appear

3. Type regedit, and then click ok.

4. Another window will appear which is the Registry editor

5. Search for this: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAutodeskInventorCurrent Version

6. After opening the Current Version folder, remove/delete the following files: "Executable", "LastVersionRun", "Registered", "RegistryVersion", "SilentMode", "UBI", and <Image_file>

7. Close the window and reboot the Inventor application. You will then be asked to register the current version. Click yes then you’re good to go.
