Hello Bertha,

Try the following workarounds and see if they will help resolve the issue that you are getting:

Method 1

  • First, you will need to go to the Apple website.
  • Try downloading and then installing the trial from there and see if that will resolve the issue.

Method 2

  • The issue could be a Microsoft problem.
  • In case you still have the 14.1.2 update, you will need to compare the .preflight scripts. You can find them in: (/Office 2011 14.1.x Update/Contents/Packages/Office2011_all_quit_14.1.x.combo.pkg/Contents/Resource s).
  • X=version number
  • In case you compare the preflight scripts, you will most probably be able to find the solution to your problem.

Regards,

Carl

It seems the problem here is that you have an older Mac. You see if you have macOS 10.5 Leopard and you want to install iWork ’08 that would be a problem. If you purchased your Mac from 2013 onwards, you can simply download the iWork suite of apps for free from the Apple App Store.

iWork includes Keynote – a presentation software similar to Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Pages – a word processor like Microsoft Office Word, and Numbers – a spreadsheet software similar to Microsoft Office Excel. But if you have an older Mac purchased before that year, the apps are no longer free. They have to be purchased individually running at $19.99 each.

But fortunately there’s a way how to get free copies of iWork programs. First, download the free trial of iWork ’09 and install. Once installed, launch all three applications: Pages, Numbers, and Keynote; then exit every application. After this, launch the Apple App Store then go to “Updates” tab. And that’s it.

You should now be able to update the iWork ’09 versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote to the latest. Once you have updated every app, the iWork ’09 trials will be deleted. And better yet, every app will be permanently associated with your account under the “Purchases” tab. On the other hand, if this doesn’t work, just go to iWork (05, 06, 08, 09) and download your version.
