Hello everyone,
Someone told me about a software, in fact a 2D drafting tool for designing and drafting purposes. It is named as Draftsight.
I am trying to install this tool on my PC for a days now, but i simply couldn't succeed.
I just keep on getting this error message again and again:
DraftSight Installer Information
Error 1320. The specified path is too long
C:UsersthayesMy DocumentsVisual Studio 2010.

I don't know what to do? Has anybody of you been facing such an issue? kindly tell me the solution to this problem. What does this error mean and why does it appear?
Please share your views to help me out.

Hello Corey,
To resolve that error, use the following procedure:

On your computer click on your Start button, and then select Computer.

Select the "Organize" drop-down that is in the upper left-hand corner and after that choose "Folder and Search Options".

And then choose the "View" tab, followed by options -> click OK:

You will need to check "Show hidden files, folders and drives".

After that uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" -> Click OK.

Go to "C:ProgramData"and then locate the "Application Data" shortcut.

After that click and then drag the "Application Data" shortcut to another location.
-
Install the 2D drafting tool.
-
After the installation finishes successfully, you will have to move the "Application Data" shortcut to its original location.

And then click on your Start button, and select Computer.

After that select he "Organize" drop-down that is in left-hand corner and then choose "Folder and Search Options".

And then choose the "View" tab, and then select the following options -> click OK:

Next, you will de-select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives", and then uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"-> Click OK.

Hello, I have seen your post carefully. I think this has happened either your PC's hard-disk is full or PC has attacked by virus. You can manually check it. But, I think you need to apply virus scan through antivirus. At the same time, you can check your "C" folder whether it's free or not. Try again. Hopefully, you will get it.

I have found a fix for The error you are getting when to install Draftsight.
Draftsight is a 2D Cad free application. It is used to design the mechanical components of the Robots in the Pharos lab.

Are you installing this software at the default directory? If so, then could you please re-install the Vis-Studio in the C drive and remove the old installation? May be the name is too long to recognize for the software. Or you can try to install it on another machine so that you will be sure about the software whether is has any problem or not.
