This is possible but it will be very hard. The manufacturer may have the installation files and drivers available on their website. If you download it, connect your printer and then restart your computer. Your computer will automatically detect your new hardware and will prompt you where the drivers are. This is far from the best, particularly for a multi-functional printer but you will surely get more from its features.

There is another way to install a printer to your laptop. If you have pendrive you just copy printer setup files to your pendrive. For this you need another computer/laptop of others which has DVD/CD rom. First of all you enter your printer dvd/cd to another computer/laptop and from there you copy your printer setup files to pendrive. Your pendrive may be 2 to 4 GB to copy printer setup files. Then go to your laptop and connect the printer. When the printer ask for installation you just open your pendrive and install your printer. After that you just follow the instructions of installation.

If your printer’s driver or software is in a CD, installing the printer on your computer will be a little difficult if your optical drive is not reading a single disc. First, try cleaning the lens of your optical drive. You can buy a CD/DVD lens cleaner from a local computer store and use it to clean the lens of your optical drive.

You can also use the lens cleaner of your DVD player, if you have one, to clean the lens of your optical drive. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, you probably need to replace your optical drive. In this case, you can try your luck installing your printer on your computer by downloading the software from the printer’s manufacturer website.

You can find the website or download link printed on the packaging of the printer. If you have an HP printer, go to HP Software and Driver Downloads. If you have a Canon printer, go to Canon Support. If you have a Brother printer, go to Brother Support & Downloads. If you have a Dell printer, go to Dell Drivers & Downloads.

Enter your printer’s model number or serial number to locate your product. Once your product is located, click your printer then select your correct operating system. After this, download and install all the available drivers on your computer.
