Install a Linux server through LAN
Hello Mildred,
I have read your concern regarding Linux installation via LAN. As what I’ve understood, you were asking for a guide on how to do it without internet connection at all. Is it right?
Here are the little points regarding the installation process. A few things needed to do this:
Must work on a PC (network boot-compatible)
Ethernet Cable
Available Network PC
Basic Understanding on Computers
Vacant Time (an hour or two)
These are the steps you need to follow to accomplish the installation process.
– Make sure that you connect the local network with an Ethernet cable.
– Turn the server ON and change boot order of devices. To successfully change a setting, you must press “F” during start-up to enable in changing settings on BIOS. Please put in mind that newer versions may have change the keys for this matter.
– Look for “NETWORK BOOT” or any related words if not found.
– A new window or installation instructions will appear and follow it until finished.
I hope I am in the right track of understanding your concern and give you a hand to fix the problem. I hope this information is of good help.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Mali
