This email and news client application allows users to have their mail account details and data stored in their local system’s hard disk. Coupled with that fact, you can only access your account from one computer though there are some software programs that allow you to access your mail account from another computer.

The address book files are stored under .wab extensions leading to addresses and the other files under .dbx extensions leading to inbox, outbox information.

More on storage of data for your account can be found on the Tools menu – Options – Maintenance Tab, and then click on Store Folder button in Outlook Express.

If you are using a free email account usually from webmail sites like Hotmail, and or Yahoo!, you can view your account details from your account settings. You can also view your profile first then click on the settings from there to view your account details. But if you are using Microsoft Office Outlook, here’s how you can display the information of your account:

  • Click Tools then E-mail Accounts.
  • Click View or change existing e-mail accounts then click Next.
  • From the list of email accounts, select the account you want to view or change then click Change. The information in your account should match with the one your Internet Service Provider gave you.
  • If you’ll be changing your POP3 server account, click Test Account Settings first to make sure that your account is working. Or if you’ll be changing a Microsoft Exchange Server account, click Check Names first to validate your name from the server and the server should recognize your name. If the server recognizes the name and server you entered it will become underlined. Otherwise if it didn’t become underlined the server didn’t recognize the name and server you entered. In this case, you need to contact the administrator.
  • Make the changes in the proper boxes. To view and change other settings, click More Settings.
  • Click Next then Finish.

Sharath take my warm regards, actually I have forgotten to mention which mail I was using but you are a genius, to see your comment I think at last fortune smiled upon me that I needed information about the Microsoft Office Outlook, how I will display the information of my account. Your solution was simple but powerful! You are so genius because you are helping me to solve my problem. Now by following your procedure consecutively, I am able to view my account details easily. Simunic herald, your solution was good but I did not find my desired answer. Thanks friends for helping me with your ample knowledge.
