Unfortunately,Windows-based tablets have limited storage space because it Windows OS and Apps occupies a lot of space. You can add space instead of deleting files by using OneDrive, microSD memory card, or external by external Hard disk and USB flash drives.

You can increase up to 3.5GB by deleting the recovery, but it’s risky. So instead of directly removing recovery create a new recovery image into a USB.

Try to delete Prefetch and temporary files.

Manage your virtual memory by shrinking your paging file. Make sure that your recycle bin empty because you may feel that we deleted files but not permanently deleted. You restore them from recycle bin if you want them back, means it indicates files are present in hard disk but moved to some other folder.

The Microsoft Surface RT tablet’s internal storage comes in two sizes: 32 GB and 64 GB. Now, if you have the 32 GB model, I don’t think you can upgrade the storage to 64 GB because it is built-in and cannot be removed just like its battery.

If you want to expand your storage because you said only 16 GB was left out of the 32 GB capacity, I guess the best option is to use microSD. Your tablet supports microSD and it supports up to 64 GB. If you install and use a 64 GB microSD card and your internal storage has 16 GB left, you will have around 80 GB space.

Here are its specifications. The Microsoft Surface RT tablet was announced to the public on October 2012 and released on November 2012 measuring 274.6 x 172 x 9.4 millimeters and weighing 680.4 grams. It was originally launched as “Surface with Windows RT” and then later marketed as “Surface RT.” It has a built-in kickstand but it doesn’t use SIM card.

It has TFT capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 1366 x 768 pixels screen resolution. It supports multi-touch up to five fingers featuring ClearType HD display. It runs on Microsoft Windows RT powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30 chipset, 1.3 GHz Quad-Core Cortex-A9 processor, and ULP GeForce GPU. It supports microSD expandable up to 64 GB.

It runs on 2 GB RAM with internal storage available in 32 GB and 64 GB capacities. The primary camera supports 1.2 megapixels featuring geo-tagging. It supports 720p video recording. The secondary camera supports 1.2 megapixels and supports 720p video recording at 30 fps.

It has 3.5-millimeter jack featuring active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band and Wi-Fi Direct support, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP support, and USB 2.0 with USB Host support. It doesn’t have GPS and FM radio. It has built-in accelerometer, gyro, and compass sensors. The pre-installed web browser supports HTML5. Java is not supported.

It runs on non-removable 31.5 Wh Li-Ion battery with standby time up to 360 hours and talk time up to 8 hours. It is available in dark titanium color.
