I want to retrieve the files

Hello experts

My mom's PC crashed, she was finding a dll file error message as well as it would not boot in windows.

As a result she has finished up getting a fresh laptop to substitute the computer she had as well as she has brought the hard disc to me to make out if we are able to recover the stuff off this.

Then we have selected a Vantec NexStar3 enclosure as well as I've installed it and the whole thing hooked up.

My PC identifies the drive however it doesn't confirm its capacity as well as when I hit on the hard drive I find this error message:

Location is not available

H:is not accessible.

The volume does not contains a recognized file system.

Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not
corrupted.
I want to retrieve the files in any other way off this drive. My present device is Windows 7,and her device was Windows 2000, IRC.

I need a complete solution of it. So, please help.

Thanks.

Hello Mackenzie,

To resolve the error that you're getting, you will need to use the following procedure:

  1. Right-click on your external drive, and then click Properties.
  2. Check if the "File System" is RAW. In case it is, then it is most likely that the partition got damaged or corrupted.
  3. You will therefore need to download a System Utilities program from this link: After the installation is through install the application on your computer.
  4. After that you will choose the  "Damaged Partition Recovery" option. It will attempt to recover the data from the damaged partition.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Carl

Unfortunately, your mothers hard drive is corrupted and all of it's data will be lost (Due to file system damages and partition corruption). Though, you could use this drive for further uses but you need to completely format it before that. Moreover, you're prohibited to use that drive until the data would be recovered.

Follow the steps to come up with all your data back:

  1. Download & install the latest version of Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Professional

  2. Run the program from the desktop by double clicking on the file named 'Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery'

  3. At the home screen, you'd find 'Drive Recovery' option where all your connect storage media devices will be listed.

  4. You need to select the externally connected problem hard drive and select the option 'RAW Recovery' from the right pane menu

  5. Perhaps, this may take time but will give you the most precise and desired results.

There were many software to recover files but I wouldn't come up with any other than Stellar Phoenix Software, which can show me the preview of recoverable files and folders without purchasing it

Good Luck!!!
