I Received “Hack Tool Detected” When I Played Cabal Online

Last night when I played Cabal Online, this message appeared when I’m about to play. The game started normally as usual when the launcher opened. I then log in to the game to start my game session. When the game logged me in and it was still loading the interface or the game environment, the message “Hack tool detected” suddenly appeared then everything closed.

I got surprised because I don’t have anything running aside from the game though earlier I installed a program called “Free Download Manager” and it is running in the system tray as a startup program. I restarted the computer, terminated some programs in the system tray including Free Download Manager then everything works well again. Just wondering what caused the message to appear.

The message “Hack tool detected” was triggered by GameGuard, the security system running with Cabal Online. It protects the game from users who use hack tools or cheats. If the game now works properly again after terminating some programs in the system tray then one of those programs probably cause the error to appear.

Try disabling some of the programs from starting up with Windows if they are not needed. The easiest way to control and manage startup programs is with CCleaner. Download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner then go to “Tools” on the left pane and select “Startup” on the right. From there, you can select and disable programs from starting up with Windows.

If you installed Free Download Manager, it is possible that its monitoring service or feature is interfering with GameGuard and was misidentified as hack tool. Disable Free Download Manager from startup and run it only when you need to use it.
