I received error message – 3194 on iTunes iOS 5.1

Hello Guys,

Have a look at the error message. I received this error message on iTunes iOS 5.1.

I tried several ways to get a remedy of this issue but no result. I also searched several sites but no appropriate result.

Have you any idea for the error?

I received error message – 3194 on iTunes iOS 5.1


You could try this solution:

  • Close you iTunes first.
  • Locate this hosts file.

    If you are a mac user use this /etc/hosts

    Windows user use this c:windowssystem32driversetchosts

  • Open the hosts file using Notepad and with Administrator Privileges, type the following at the boom of the note pad. gs.apple.com

  • Connect a device that you use (iPhone, iPad, iPod etc..) for your iTunes to the computer
  • Run iTunes.
  • Turn of the devices or put them in sleep mode by holding the power button for atleast 10 seconds.
  • Release the power button but onto the home button until your device appears in iTunes recovery mode.
  • Use the iTunes Restore Features with iOS device.
  • When the iOS has been updated, delete the gs.apple.com on the hosts file. iTunes will work nicely then.
