I receive the error message “File Format Error” while trying to load a mp4 file in VE 6.1 installed on a Windows 7 X64 computer. The error message is displayed on the Import Media windows under “All supported video”. How can I resolve the problem?

To be able to solve your problem I suggest you to repair AVS files:
1. Close all AVS programs and other applications that are running
2. Follow Start
3. All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.
If some of the .dlls are not registered, please make a screenshot of the Repair window showing those files and send it to us. You also need to determine where your Mp4 files are originated and be sure that it is not right protected to be able to avoid this kind of error.

This error occurs due to following reasons.
1-When media file is damaged.
2-When Operating system does not have audio capabilities.
3-When window media player does not support the file format.
When this error comes then you should verify that your media file is a supported type.
You must use the latest version of window media player.
