I'm a new owner of a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 that has the 1GHz processor and the Android 2.1 operating system.  How do I turn the wifi and 3G function on?  Can someone teach me Samsung Galaxy S troubleshooting tips?  Thank you.

Hi Chrishol

I have also Samsung Galaxy S phone. But the difference is my phone’s android version is Gingerbread 2.3.5.

Here is how you can turn on your WiFi:

You can just pull down your notification bar by just the top most part of your phone.

Then, in order to turn on your WiFi, tap the “WiFi” area. You can select the WiFi Networks you detected by tapping “Applications”>“Settings”>“Wireless and Networks”>“WiFi Settings”. You must see a list of names of WiFi Networks available. Just to your selected WiFi Network. If there is a password free wifi, then you’ll connect to that network automatically.

Here is how you can turn on 3G:

If there is a “3G” or “H” on the top of your phone, you are already connected to a 3G network. You can turn it off by going to “Settings”>”Wireless and Network”>”3G data call settings” then tap “disable”.

If you can’t see any of these signs, you are not connected to a 3G network. You need some configurations in order to connect to a 3G network.

Go to “Settings”>”Wireless and Network”>”Mobile Networks”>”Access Point Name”. Then fill up the information that must be provided by your network provider. You can check this information by going to their website.

That’s all.

I hope this helps.
