Hi Guys! I am running Windows 7 professional and I have been using my webcam without any problems. I have no idea what happened, but now I cannot use the webcam. It is a cam A140BV driver. There is always something showing at the notification area that drivers are being installed and then it always fails. How do I go about it?

Hi James Rio Allen,

Maybe you don't install the driver of cam A140BV and instead use the Windows 7 & 8 plug and play features which supports many of new devices by downloading its driver through windows update. I suggest you download its driver or if you have the existing driver try to reinstall it. If the problem still persist, try to change the location of its USB port. I hope one of this solutions will work on your problem.

Greetings! James Rio Allen

Your web camera is Mentor A140BV sized by 640×480, has a CMOS sensor, 300K/VGA Primary Color, have lens sized 3.5mm F=2. 0, and a Frame rate of 30f/s at VGA. It supports only Windows ’95, Windows ‘98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP of two versions (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows Vista. The installers warned their clients that the drivers must be installed freshly after OS installation. I suggest to change your OS which is near to Windows 7 Professional (which is Windows Vista), or, change your web camera to suit Windows 7 Professional. Here’s the link for more information, in case you change your mind to change your OS: http://download.cnet.com/s/chat-voip-email-webcam-video/windows/
