Hello, I have this problem about hp director scanner software download.

When I am trying to download the said software there is an error message that says “unable to download, compatibility problem”.

I don’t know what is the error all about. Give me some solution.

You have not mentioned what operating system you are using and also what browser you are using to download the software. Incompatibility arises when there is conflict between the software you are trying to download and existing software in the computer.

The most probable culprit for this is that you might be trying to download the software using internet explorer; if this is the case follow the instructions below to redeem the situation.

1. Open my computer

2. Open “ add or remove programs tab”

3. Uninstall internet explorer and try using a different browser (e.g. Firefox, chrome)

4. Go to this link And select your device and then select your operating system, and it should bring you to a page with a list of software and driver downloads. From here try downloading the software afresh.

If you receive a compatibility error when downloading the driver that means the version you are downloading is not compatible with your computer. Before downloading the driver, you have to select your correct operating system on the page to display the appropriate downloads for your platform.

Even if you manage to download the incorrect driver, you will still not be able to install it because it is not compatible with your operating system. To download the driver again, go to HP Software and Driver Downloads. On the page, select the icon for the printer then enter your product’s name on the next page like for example, without quotes “HP OfficeJet 4630” then click “Submit”.

On the next page, select your correct operating system from the options then click “Change”. Also, if you are using Microsoft Windows, make sure to select the correct version like 32-bit or 64-bit. On the download page, download all available drivers and install them on your computer. This should fix the problem.
