The reason why you are being asked to provide a password every time you want to send an email is just to ensure that it is you who is sending that email and not some other person who have gained unauthorized access to your account trying to masquerade using your account.

Sometimes you may forget to log off your account and someone might want to send mails that may be intended to cause harm to you; this feature will prevent against that. Though it may look like a whole deal of job repeating it again and again, but it is for your own security.
