Hello Everyone,

I have a business Centre and my all IT base platform is on Mac. I’ve a Mac OSX Server. It’s a standard 2008 R2 domain. I’ve two partitions, one is server and another is Public. I want to share public with all my colleagues. I popped onto server admin Volume and created a share and attempted to share it via auto mounting, ensuring that I had moved the group students into the permissions, but it won't work. I've tried in different ways but failed to fix it up. Any solution please let me know.

Regards,

Arifuzzaman

Hello there,

Could you please try this. Go to Server Admin, then your server,  then Access tab. Make sure that your groups have access to the services there. I think you haven't tried this. If  you don't ensure the access tab then you can't share your drive with your colleagues. Regards.

Yes, you can do it but in that case, this is my assumption that, you should have a high configuration iMac.Because OS X server is pretty lousy. Regards.

Thanks, for your information. You are right.  I'll do it and also I'm thinking if I install an external drive connectivity it will be helpful. What do you think? Regards.

You can do it and external drive connectivity will make it a true contender as a general purpose server. Good luck.

Hi,

As you are using X serve and you already have created two partitions. You want one of your hard drive partitions to be for your colleagues. First you have to configure your IP address and then you need a high specification computer for your work group and also try to apple Airport/Extreme base station for routing. It's very simple. Cheers.
