These are flash file formats and you need a flash file opener for such a purpose. For flv files you can use VLC player that is available to download online and you will be able to see the files and for swf files you need a flash file opener.

You can also convert files from one format to another format to make them available for view.

Hi Jayden,

To edit the Flash templates, use Adobe Flash Professional. You can also use Adobe Premiere to open and edit the FLV files. Though it can only import and open the SWF files. Adobe Premiere and Adobe Flash Professional are proprietary software, meaning you have to buy them. There is also a free trial version for the Adobe Flash Professional. Here is the download link for the trial installer: http://www.adobe.com/products/animate.html

If you want a free editor with almost the same capability as Adobe Flash Professional, use FlashDeveloper. Here is the download link for the installer:

If the files you are opening are in FLV (*.flv) and SWF (*.swf) formats, you can use a media player with flash content support. If you opened the files with a media player and you receive the error, it means the media player you are using cannot find a suitable or compatible codec on your system to play the file or video you selected.

This problem can happen not only with the media player you are using but with any other media players if the right codec is not available in your system. The easiest way to fix the problem is to install the necessary codec. Try downloading K-Lite Codec Pack Mega. This mega variant of the K-Lite codec pack is the largest of the four variants: basic, standard, full, and mega.

This codec pack provides everything that you need to play all your audio and video files. This codec pack also includes ACM/VFW codec which can be used by video encoding/editing programs. This codec pack includes Media Player Classic so you can immediately play your files. The latest version at the moment is K-Lite Codec Pack Mega 15.0.0.

For Windows XP Service Pack 3, the latest and last compatible version is K-Lite Codec Pack Mega 13.8.5. Try using the latest VLC media player or use MPlayer for Windows. Both media players can play files with the latest flash content.
