Hello experts,

I cannot open some applications such as my download half life apps. Counterstrike or half life game was one of my favorite applications in my hp dell laptop with an operating system of windows 7 starter, but I am having a hard time in opening the executable file. Give me some ways to open the file, thank you.

Hi,

Windows 7 has 64 bit operating system which does not support applications (developed when windows 7 did not exist that is in the 90s) . In order to run these type of applications it is necessary that you run the application under the conditions required(16/32 bits). So here goes the solution –find the setup program (often called "setup.exe" or something similar), right-click on it and choose the "Compatibility" tab of the properties page.

Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose "Windows XP Service Pack 3". Then try running the program again.

Windows 7 is updated but this game is not updated. If you use windows xp then you can use that software.
There is a bit factor here. So if you use windows 7 then it is hard to use that software. Thank you for asking the question. I think now you realize the problem.
