I am having a problem here and I don’t how to fix it. My Windows is Vista, and I'm using Internet Explorer 7 for browsing. My JavaScript is enabled, Adobe Flash Player is updated, and yet why I can’t watch any videos on YouTube?

The message says, "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player".

Does anyone have a clue on this?

You may have installed and enabled ad-blocking software on your web browser or likely a certain Firewall or Internet security program is preventing you from watching videos. You may try disabling this temporarily and find out if this work. You could also try uninstalling your existing Adobe Flash Player and install a fresh one.

After installation, do not forget to restart your computer in order to update your registry. To check if your JavaScript is really enabled, open your browser navigate to Tools then choose Internet Options.

1. Click on the Security tab.

2. Click the Custom Level button.

3. Go to the Scripting section.

4. Select Enable for Active Scripting and Scripting of Java Applets.

5. Click OK. Select YES if a box appears to confirm.

6. Click OK and close the Window.

7. Reload the page to apply the settings.

Most videos on YouTube are streamed through an Adobe Flash player. If you're having trouble playing videos on YouTube, we suggest you install the latest version of the Flash player.

Please follow these steps to upgrade to the most recent version of Adobe's Flash Player:

Before installing Adobe Flash, you will need to first uninstall any older versions you currently have running on your computer. To do so, download make sure to select your correct operating system, and then "Uninstall Flash."

Now that you've uninstalled the older version of Flash, follow Adobe's instructions for re-installing the most recent version.

Once you've downloaded the file, please exit your browser first, and then install the upgraded version of Flash to your computer.

Finally, open your browser again and go to YouTube. You should now be able to successfully watch videos!

If the instructions above don't resolve the issue, please also try the following:

Temporarily disable popup blocking software installed on your computer to test.

Allow YouTube.com as a trusted site in your Firewall software.

Ensure other applications like Quicktime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player aren't set as the default streaming application, as this might affect the video player.

Make sure your computer is set up properly for Flash by checking out Adobe's Advanced Troubleshooter

Try This also

Go to your Control Panel display settings (settings tab), click the "advanced" button, troubleshoot tab, drag your hardware acceleration bar to "none" and click "OK".

Go back to YouTube & refresh the page. The videos should show up after this.
