Hi Experts,
I have another laptop MSI Wind U100, a net book. It is running on a Windows 7 Starter and I have a little issue on it. The net book is new and it does not have an Operating System installed before, so my brother installed it with the new Windows 7 Starter Edition.
My problem is, I cannot find the option to change the desktop background to the image I like. I believe a friend of mine is on Windows 7 as well and a Starter as well. From what I know, she was able to change her wallpaper.
Why can’t I do it on mine? Kindly help me.
I am unable to change my desktop background
Hi Wendy,
I also have a laptop which is running on Windows 7 Ultimate. I have personalized my desktop wallpaper through doing the following steps:Â
-
Right click on your desktop.
-
You will be routed to the screen that says "Change the visuals and sounds on your computer". On the bottom you will also see "Desktop Background", click on it.
-
Once you click it, you will be routed to the page that says "choose your desktop background". Please look for the picture you want to make as a wallpaper through clicking on "Browse" button.
-
Click "Save changes" button.

I am unable to change my desktop background
Hello Wendy,
Unfortunately, Windows 7 Starter edition comes with one desktop background, which can't be changed or customized. To check that, you can go to Microsoft windows website and you will realize that you are unable to change your background.
Look at this link for details: Microsoft personalize your computer

I am unable to change my desktop background
Hi Wendy,
It sounds as though you have Windows 7 Starter. Is that correct?
If so, there is no personalization. However, you can get around this very easily by downloading Oceanis, it's safe, it's free and has been a solution for so many people with the same problem as you.
Here is the link Oceanis
When you have downloaded it, you will be able to change the desktop background and there is also an optional desktop slide show (shuffle).
Let us know if that solves your problem.
If you don't have Windows 7 Starter, then your problem will have to be resolved another way.
Please come back and let us know if that is the case.
