I am having problems with virtual box on windows 10

I have installed Windows 10 to a 20 GB Virtual drive that I have set to Dynamic in Virtual Box. All has been fine until when I wanted to download the new build. It simply gives me a message that there is enough room for installation. Since the drive is dynamic I do not expect space to be an issue. Besides, I have tried expending the partition size but windows does not recognize the additional space. How can I go about this? Anyone who knows how to expand disk memory in Virtual Box please help.

Hello,

Expanding virtual HDD isn’t possible unless you mount a new HDD. The older one isn’t expandable.

For installing Windows 10 under VirtualBox, it’s recommended to use at least 50GB virtual HDD. Windows 10 is a heavy OS and needs a large space, of course.

If you’re confused, delete the existing virtual machine. Then, create a new virtual machine with at least 2-4GB RAM and 50GB virtual HDD.

If still facing trouble, it’s recommended to get the latest VirtualBox and its extension pack. Download VirtualBox.
