HP Scanjet 3400c leaves green lines on the image when scanning.

I have a problem in my HP Scanjet 3400c scanner. Every time I am scanning an image or document it leaves a green line on the scanned image. Sometimes it leaves none.

I wonder why this was happening now ever since I haven’t experience this kind of output. Is it because when I transfer my computer set to my new room I didn’t lock the scanner before transferring?

What should I do now?

Here’s the sample scanned image.

Leaving the scanner unlock when moving is not a big issue when you are moving on another room within one building. If you are moving your scanning miles away which you need transportation or a car to travel the machine it requires the scanner to be locked.

Locking of the scanner only ensures that the lenses (Scanner) will not move inside the unit to avoid damage to the scanner.

By the way, your scanner might be damage when moving when the scanner bumps to walls or doors or it falls on the ground. Without these incidents the scanner is okay.

Scanner needs a plenty supply of electricity when operating. If you have power failures or lower current in your area that symptoms is a cause of low power source. Try to put an AVR as your scanner power source to make the power supply is stable.

Before scanning disconnect all cables connected to the computer and then connect it all again then scan.
