HP Printer driver installation issue.

I have an HP business inkjet 1200 and prior to reformatting my computer, it was working very fine. But nowm it is throwing an error message stating that the 'Driver is Unavailable'. I tried the software, Print and Scan Doctor and it says, I do not have the installation files and gives me a link to download it. When I click on it, it sends me a calculator. What is that? Worst is, it keeps on re-opening. Anyone who can help? I'm running Windows 8.

HP Printer driver installation issue.

Hello,

Working with HP printer requires the correct driver installed on your PC. Download the latest HP Business Inkjet 1200dn Printer driver.

After installing, try to print any document. Open any text editor, e.g. Notepad, type something and then press “Ctrl + P”. Choose the “HP printer” from the list and print the document.

If you’re sent to Calculator every time, there might be some virus issue with your Windows 8 system. Use any good antivirus software, for example, BitDefender which won the AV Test certificate for Windows 8. Other good antiviruses are Norton, Kaspersky etc.

HP Printer driver installation issue.

I guess the reason why your printer doesn’t have a driver for Microsoft Windows 8 is because your operating system already includes the driver for that printer model. Even if you check the official HP website, the page doesn’t provide the download for the driver for Windows 8 both x86 and x64.

What the page provides are downloads of different versions of the printer diagnostic tools. Similar to Windows 8, there is also no driver download for Windows 7. HP only provides driver downloads for Windows Vista and earlier operating systems. To install the HP Business Inkjet 1200 printer on your Windows 8, simply connect the USB connector to one of the USB ports on your computer and the operating system should install the necessary drivers for it.

If you still have a problem installing the printer, download and install the diagnostic tools from HP Business Inkjet 1200 Printer Diagnostic Tools x86. If you have 64-bit Windows 8, download and install HP Business Inkjet 1200 Printer Diagnostic Tools x64.
