Hi all experts,

I am very fond of traveling, so I used to travel in planes and helicopters, but not able to use Skype in planes. Can anyone help me how to use airplane Skype. Is the networks are not available at the plane's height?

Hello,

Please note: The use of internet-based voice services (VoIP) is not permitted on United® or United Express® flights".

You didn't mention what kind of phone you are using.

In general, there is an option "Airplane mode". This option should be in the settings option. Turn it on. I hope it will help you.

Thank you.

Well, in flight mode, you can use internet-based voice services (VoIP). This is the way so that you can't face any problem because it's like watching a video online. If people can use Skype with their Wi-Fi, they can talk as much as they want at "normal" rates.

They will never pay premium in-flight voice rates. It's the same reason why Skype has not fully taken off in smartphones. It would predate on the telecom company’s revenue, where some operators are revising their strategies. After all, I want to say that you can use it though it may cost much.

Hi Louise Rios,

Well if you want to use Skype in a flight than first of all you have to confirm that whether you are having Internet access or not.

It depends on the airline, most flights do not offer internet, although more and more airlines are starting to offer Wi-Fi (for a price). Give your airline a call; they're the ones to ask.

You can use Skype in flight mode and for basic settings you can visit the Skype community.

I hope that this will fix your problem.

Thanks & Regards
