Hi,

We have an ADSL connection that enables us to have Wi-Fi connection, however the problem is it is connected to the telephone so whenever someone will use the telephone the internet goes out so if that person wil use the telephone for a long period of time we won't be able to use the internet.

Someone told me that I can use a router. What is a router anyway and how do I install and use it. And about the problem with the internet and telephone, if there is other remedy for this please help me.

Thank you.

There are different ways for use different kinds of router or different manufacture companies. But the main method is same for all. So it is using different ways for different porous.

First option is create a power connection with router and setup it with telephone line or your internet line. Then install router’s driver software in your pc or the server pc of your network connection. Then window will auto detect router and force it to work.

Other option is there is a manual book with your router. Follow the instructions of the book and use the router.

Other option is go and visit the website of manufactured company and find information about connecting router.

Hi,

Internet connection lost when someone using a telephone is caused by interference. Router's Wi-Fi broadcast and uses microwave signal and often intercept by receptions.

what you need to do to prevent this from happening is to put your router away from the telephone. This usually happen if you are using a cordless telephone and also uses microwave signal are in the same room.

Let them not closed to each other and this should let you use phone and Internet at the same time. Routers are really made this say, to give you Internet connection for all computers and use a phone for ADSL modem and or VOIP.

Screen shots shows, telephone is cordless and router uses antenna to broadcast wireless connections. Both uses Wireless, and this is a disaster when they met in between. Either 1 of the 2 will not work whoever has a strong signal and better reception of wireless.

Hello Gabriel,

As I analyzed the problem about the connection between your internet connection and phone connection your Internet Service Provider (ISP) didn’t provide you with this small device we called the pot splitter or micro filter. Pot splitter helps you separate the connection of your analog telephone and ADSL router. Look at the first image below on what is these splitter look like. Try to communicate with your Internet Service Provider regarding a pot splitter if they provide it free if not then buy it in electrical shop or electronic shop.

As you state:“We have an ADSL connection that enables us to have Wi-Fi connection”.

Well, if you can have a Wi-Fi connection so far then you already have ADSL router or Wireless router installed. Ok, routers are the best way share data and share a single broadband connection with multiple users whether you used a non wireless router or wireless router. Look at the second image from the right side of image 1 on what is router look like. Can you please give us a picture about your router connection and take shot at the back of it so we may check your connection.

Moving forward on how to have a good wiring connection for a pot splitter, router and phone. First locate your wall socket or extension telephone socket then connect your pot splitter on it. In your pot splitter you have two hubs for telephone and for ADSL router. Both Telephone line and ADSL line has same cord and same end point  which is RJ-11.Look at the third and fourth image below about the connections.

You don’t need to configure the ADSL router because it default by your ISP and they are the one who will configure it if they have an adjustment or configuration. Hope this helps your problem.
