Hello experts,

How to use bin images in mac? Is there a software that I can use to view a bin image file or a way that we can use a bin image file format using a mac operating system? I’m just a stranger in this mac operating system but of course I am ready to learn. Can you give some aspects that I have to consider when downloading something? Thank you.

Hello Martha,

Files are compressed files. Usually file containing video information from DVDs. BIN files have been replaced by DMG (disk image) files in modern Mac computers running OS X. Therefore, if you need to burn a BIN file  with your Mac you will have to create a DMG file first and then burn it. Luckily, Disk Utility can do both. Here's how. First, open "disk utility" in the utilities folder in the finder's go menu. Second, click "new image" and select the BIN file. Then, name the file and choose a size, encryption and format for the file.

Then, click "create". Click "use both" in the dialogued window. The files new extension will be BIN.DMG. Place a CD or DVD into your Mac's optical drive. Lastly, Select the BIN.DMG file from the list and click "burn". Select the slowest burning speed and click "burn".
