I would like to buy a new MacBook Air but it has a memory of 4 GB which cannot be upgraded. Is there any way I can extend the memory, like by adding another RAM chip of equal memory? Can you please give me suggestions about doing so?

How to upgrade memory of MacBook Air
Hello Alicekdailey,
Macbook Air has been in the market since 2008 and sad to say that since that time the RAM has never been upgraded. This product has been described by Apple as "configured" that sometimes costumers are mislead as to this product is upgradable. But unfortunately, it is not.
That is why one way to increase the memory of your new Macbook Air is that you can just sell your original memory to buy a new 4GB or 8GB RAMV. It has only the difference of a few dollars so it might be worth while to buy more space for your Macbook Air.
How to upgrade memory of MacBook Air
Hi.
The only way to upgrade ram or disk on Macbook Air or Pro is to do it during purchase in Apple store. Once you buy it, you can`t upgrade ram on macbook air. Ram module is soldered to Macbook Air`s logic board and any intervention would damage it and cause with guarantee lose. So to be short, no you can not extend ram on your macbook air. This laptop is un-upgreadble.
