Hi, this is Manisha from Rajasthan. I am using a Windows 7 PC. I want to clear the event viewer of Windows 7. Please help me in doing so. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello, Manisha I am glad to help you. Please go through these steps; it will surely help you to clear the event viewer.

  1. Clear the Windows Event Log manually

Step1. Left-click or tap the start button.

Step2. Left-click on Control Panel in the start menu.

Step3. Left-click on System and Security.

Step4. Left-click on Administrative Tools in the System and Security window. You can also type ‘event’ in the search menu and select ‘View event logs.’

Step5. view event logs control panel

Now you will need to be signed in as administrator and double click (left click) on “Event Viewer,”

Step6. After opening the Event Viewer. You will have a list of events that you can access.   

Step7. Right-click on the event you want to clear and then left on the “Clear log.”

Step8. After clearing the event logs, close the Event log window, and you can go on with your work.

 

  1. Use Command Prompt
  1.  Find the “cmd” icon.
  2. Right-click on it.
  3. Select “Run as administrator.”
  4.  Type “wevtutil el” in the “cmd” window you opened. It will show you all the events you have.
  1. Now you have the list of event logs in front of you write down the one you want to clear.
  2. For clearing a specific event, write down the command below, followed by the name of the log.
