How secure is LogMeIn HaMachi Premium?

Logmein uses these layered securities for your protection. I personally use logmein & It's been doing a great job, & Im only using the free version not the pro.

Secure user accounts – Using your email address & a different password, you account is safe in an encrypted gateway and stores the link to the secure,SSL-encrypted connections.

Windows authentication – To access your host machine you need to enter the username & password of that machine to access it. even if you know the logmein logon account if you do not know the host machine or the machine you wish to remote control you cannot access it.

Account lockout – If there are failed attempts accessing your logmein account an email will automatically be sent to your email account informing you of the intrusion or failed attempt. If the failed attempt reaches five times then your logmein account will be temporarily locked and another email will be sent to your email informing you of the lockout status & provides you with a link to undo this.

IP Address lockout – For the failed five attempts the ip address you are currently using will be blocked for 30 mins. completely configurable so you can set the number of attempts and IP lockout time. You can also set specific ip addresses to access your logmein account and blocking others.

One-time passwords – For added security a one-time password option is also available, this is to prevent other from accessing your host machine even of they know the host machines password. The one time passwords can be sent through email or printed for your safe keeping. One-time password can only be used once.

Personal passwords – Another layer of security you can use wherein after entering the machine password you will be asked to enter a specific letter of the personal password you provided in logmein.

SSL Encryption – All traffic is encrypted with end-to-end 128 to 256 bit SSL encryption. same technology used by major banks to allow secure online transactions.
