Hi there Rochelle T Tritt,

You can't render your AutoCAD drawing directly into a PDF document, so you will need either some kind of plugin for your AutoCAD or you will need to render the image and then convert it to a PDF document. I would suggest you to use the second method as the cheaper and simpler.

Here is a full step by step tutorial how to render a file in AutoCAD 2012: AutoCAD 2012 – Materials and Rendering.

Once your file is render and saved as image, just use the Acrobat Reader to create PDF document from the image.

Exporting PDF files from an AutoCAD drawing is an effortless two step procedure:

1. Hit  the export button

2. Write in a file name and click the ‘Save’ button.

The render to PDF command can simply be found on the ‘Export to DWF/PDF’ panel of the ‘Output’ tab.

The export can be done from the command line by typing ‘EXPORTPDF’.

Hi,

In order for you to render your AutoCAD file to your PDF file, you have to Click the render tab on the ribbon and click the Advance Render Settings button (Small arrow on the edge to view the whole panel).

On the General Tab > Render Context > Output file name section, click the ellipsis or three dots.

On the dialog box, look down below on the files of types and select pdf, click ok and the file is ready on the pdf file.
