There are many ways to remove your Administrative Password depending on your situation. Here is a simple way to fix it:

  1. Click on Start and then go to Run, type CMD to open the Command Prompt.
  2. In the Command Prompt type control userpasswords2, a window will appear.
  3. On the window, uncheck the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and click OK
  4. The computer will no longer prompt you for a password.

Or, if you can no longer get in Windows, there is no other choice but to use the Repair function of your Windows Installation Disc. Here's how you do it:

  1. Set your PC to boot from CD, insert you Windows CD and boot your computer. When prompted, press any key to start booting from CD.
  2. Press Enter to start up Windows, accept the agreement by pressing F8.
  3. Press R to begin Repair process, your PC will reboot. Let the computer boot normally by not pressing any key when prompted.
  4. Watch the lower left corner of your screen and wait for "Installing Devices" progress bar to appear.
  5. Press Shift+F10 at the same time. This will open a command line console.
  6. In there, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter.
  7. This will give you access to user accounts, change or remove your Administrative Password as you wish to.
  8. After the repair is finished, you can now login successfully.

It might be true that he or she change the admin password, that’s the problem when you give an administrative right for a local user because it also has all the rights to do anything in the system like the admin account.

You shouldn’t give an administrative right to a local user, but there are some cases that you have to run in an administrator in order to use some program that’s run only if you have an administrator rights.

If this is the case, then you should restrict the local user that’s run under the administrative rights. You can do that in the registry editor.
