I would like to change the skin of my VB.net Express Edition 2010 to have a personalized effect.  I want the application to blend in with the visuals of Windows.  Do I have to use DirectX or third party options?  How do I change skins for Windows application vbnet?

Good day Mathew Horne!

The skins for Windows application vbnet can be modified by changing the settings of the control FlatStyle. Change the setting to Systemand. After changing the setting you should call Application.EnableVisualStyles() in the code. The standard components configure automatically with the current Windows skin but the skin can be changed in the code.

Hello there !!

To change the skin for the VB.net express edition you don't need to download any third party application also you don't need to install the DirectX. Since DirectX is used to enhance the video acceleration and nothing more than that. So what you can do for changing the skin of the VB.net is that >> just go to the tool menu.>> Select the preference >> select skin >> chose your skin. And your theme of the VB.net will changes to the current selected theme.
