I have been using Macromedia Freehand at work for a few years but I've recently decided to try Adobe Illustrator (for a change/ to upgrade) in making garment spec sheets. However, I can't seem to figure out, how to easily paste inside a pattern in an object. Is there a paste-inside option in AI (because Freehand has) or is there an alternative and easy way to do it in AI?
Please help. Thank you.

Here following my example :

I even have designed a type using Celebrity Device, Pucker and Bloat outcome In Photo shop.
