Hi Experts,

I have just bought a new system with small sized CPU and LCD screen monitor. It's working awesome on starting, as the CPU temperature is minimum even while playing high graphics game. I wanted some software or any hardware so that the CPU does not produce much heat or sound.

Hi Nick,

Keeping the temperature of the CPU is very important as if CPU temperature gets high your computer will not work properly and it will stop working every now and then. I don’t think any software could keep the CPU cool. Most important thing is to keep your CPU in a cold place, clean it regularly. This will increase the performance. You can add a couple of fans to your casing which will also help to keep the CPU cooler.

Your PC contains a lot of parts, almost all of which create heat when your computer is on. Some parts, like the CPU and graphics card, can get so hot you could cook on them. A case fan is just a small fan that attaches to either the front or the back of a computer case, from the inside. Case fans help move air through a computer.

Installing two case fans, one to move cool air into the PC and another to move warm air out of the PC, is a great way to keep a computer cool.

The power supply in your PC has a large fan built into it. The air you feel when you hold your hand behind your computer is from this fan.

If you don't have a case fan, the power supply fan is the only way that the hot air created inside your computer can be removed. Your computer can heat up quickly if this fan isn't working.

You don’t need to install an additional hardware or software to make the CPU less noisy or cooler because your machine is already equipped with it. A computer will not work if it is not installed with a heat sink and a cooling fan. It is a must that both components are installed and will not work if one is missing.

The function of the heat sink is to receive or absorb the heat produced by the processor as it operates while the cooling fan is to cool down the heat sink. The CPU cooling fan is installed on top of the heat sink. The heat sink is in between the processor and the cooling fan.

To transfer the heat from the processor to the heat sink more efficiently, a thermal solution is used in between the processor and the heat sink. The thermal solution is applied in a small drop in the center of the processor before putting the heat sink on top of the processor. You can control the speed of the cooling fan from the BIOS.

Setting it to a lower cycle will make it to operate silently while setting it to a higher cycle will make the cooling fan noisy but will make the CPU a lot cooler.
