How to lock mac address

Asked By 10 points N/A Posted on -

Hi there,

I have set up a small network consisting of 5 computers that will be primarily used for storing backup data.

The computers need to confine Mac addresses, in other words, the Mac address for these PCs need to be locked so as to not conflict with other devices residing on an external network where this small network will be connected as a sub network,

Can anyone guide me on how to lock Mac address in windows 7?

Thank you.

How to lock mac address

The MAC address is always locked but if you need to change your MAC address then follow these three steps:
  • Go to Start > Device Manager > Network Adapter > Properties
  • Now click on the Advanced tab and in the Network Address field enter your desired MAC address and click OK.
Now you can setup your MAC addresses on your devices.  Regards.
