Is it possible to edit VCF file using any text editor like Notepad.

If so please advice on how to edit VCF Notepad and how to save it.

Is there any standard procedure to manage the text in the VFC file, so that it can be exported and imported as VCF file, even after doing the editings.

Please advice. Thanks

One type of file format that uses the VCF file extension is the vCard format (.vcf). It is Office Outlook’s way of storing contact information in a file. This way you can send your contact information or your friend’s contact information in a form of a file.

When the person receiving the file opens the vCard attachment or the “.vcf” file, a contact form will open showing the contact information. When the person saves the file, it will be added directly to his Office Outlook contacts saving all the information. But if you don’t have Office Outlook and you’re wondering if you can open it with any text editor programs such as Notepad, yes you can.

The vCard format is a human-readable text file. You can open it with Notepad or Wordpad. If you want to add contact information to the file, just follow the default formatting on the previous entries. Another file format that uses the VCF file extension is the Variant Call Format or VCF. It is a format of a text file used in bioinformatics for storing gene sequence variations.
