You can use Adobe Photoshop, any version will do, but you will have to purchase the license of this one. It has many features and is easy to learn.
Or you can use Gimp anyway if you don't want to purchase. It is an open-source software and most of the features are the same with Photoshop, but I found it not as easy to learn myself. But you can try it, see the tutorial on https://www.gimp.org/tutorials/.

Apart Adobe Photoshop, which is by far the best program for graphics, but unfortunately expensive, you could use a series of open source programs. They will save you money and will provide you with the same main functions as Photoshop. Please find below two links for Photoshop tutorials.
