First, shut down your system. Then boot your system using a CD and select your language. Then, click on the command prompt and look for the registry files which look like this : system32config

There, look for the RegBackup directory. Check this directory and try to find an earlier version of the offending hive. Lastly, click back to go to the registry hives, rename the offending one(s) and then go to the RegBackup directory and copy the offending hives to the registry folder.

Now restart your computer again.
