Hi,

You can restore your windows 7 desktop to an earlier working state and fix system registries by using the System Restore feature in your computer to make it run in the configuration it was running before.

System restore basically returns window files like registry to their earlier settings and versions.

You can get more information at the about website.

Hello,

System Restore helps one to restore their computer's system files to an earlier point in time

From the Start menu, select All Programs then choose Accessories and select System Tools program group.

Click on the System Restore program icon and click next on the Restore system files and settings window.

Select the point you would like to restore your computer to and click next.

Select finish on the Confirm your restore point window so as to begin the System Restore.

The System Restore function found on Microsoft Windows lets you restore or undo destructive changes made to your computer and it includes the settings and performance.

The process shifts your computer back to an earlier state before the changes have been made. This is with the use of the so called “restore points” which are automatically created by Windows itself during system check. But you can only use System Restore if it is enabled in your hard drive. But don’t worry, by default, System Restore is enabled in all of your hard drives.

But be cautious when using System Restore. When using it after installing several applications on your computer, you might accidentally disable some of the programs and may not work again. If this happens, simply install the affected programs again. And also, don’t rely on it too much.

There are times, as with my experience, that it can’t restore your computer to the previous state even if you already created a restore point manually. To assist you on the proper usage of System Restore, watch the video below titled “How To System Restore Your PC”.
