Hi. I have the 32 GB Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 that has the Hummingbird chipset, 1 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU, PowerVR SGX540 GPU and Android Gingerbread.  An app was silently installed on my Tab, I noticed a SEND icon which I did not install.  My Tab automatically dials a phone number and sends email.  How do I remove Samsung silent installation?

Hi Douglas,

Have you tried to check you playstore application? it has capability to install application without your permission. And have you checked the Unknown source? to uncheck the unknown source go to setting application development then uncheck the Unknown source so that any application outside from Google playstore would not be installed with your permission. Or Simply delete the installed app to application manager.

Hi Douglas,

Did you use to own a different android device in the past? It’s possible that the app(s) is from an old android device which was stored in your Google Account and has been imported to your new device. You may try this. Go to Settings, then Privacy. You should see the options “Back up my data” and “Automatic Restore”. You may check/uncheck them to your preference.

Hello Douglas,

You can either delete the installed application to application manager, or check the unknown source. In order to check it go to setting, then to application development and then uncheck the unknown source. This way any application that is not from Google Playstore would not be installed without your permission and hence deleted.
