Installing an email client is no different when installing any program. You simply need to follow the instructions on the screen to install. There are different email clients available on the internet that you can use and here are some:

  • Microsoft Office Outlook – bundled with Microsoft Office. If you have the entire Microsoft Office package installed, you can install Microsoft Office Outlook by enabling this feature in the “Add or Removes Program” in the Control Panel.
  • Opera Mail – this is Opera’s version of an email client and an alternative to Microsoft Office Outlook. You can download and use it for free.
  • Mozilla Thunderbird – this is a free email client from Mozilla. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 including Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • SeaMonkey – SeaMonkey is one unique web browser that has a built-in email client. I am using it as a web browser but haven’t tried it yet as an email client because I’m already using Mozilla Thunderbird.

Once the email client is installed, the next part is creating your account in the client. To create an account, you need to refer to your mail service provider for the proper settings and procedure because you will need the correct incoming and outgoing server addresses including the port numbers and protocols used. You won’t be able to configure your account properly on the email client without these settings.
